Abstract

Bluetooth merupakan teknologi wireless yang memanfaatkan frekuensi bebas, 2,4 GHz ISM (Industrial, Science, Medicine) untuk komunikasi PAN (Personal Area Network) seperti transfer data antar handphone. Begitupun Wi-Fi juga merupakan teknologi yang menggunakan frekuensi 2,4 GHz namun dengan cakupan area yang lebih luas dan kecepatan yang lebih tinggi dari Bluetooth untuk LAN (Local Area Network) seperti Hotspot. Penggunaan frekuensi yang sama menyebabkan sistem Bluetooth dan Wi-Fi mengalami interferensi yang akan menyebabkan penurunan perfromansi. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan sistem Wi-Fi mulai mengalami penurunan throughput sebesar 2,348 Mbps pada jarak 21 m dari access point. Sedangkan sistem Bluetooth mengalami penurunan throughput sebesar 47,914 KBps pada jarak 1 meter dari access point dan jarak antar Bluetooth-nya 50 cm.
